SAMPLE 10-Day Israel Tour Itinerary
DAY ONE -
Our Holy Land journey will begin at our US airport where we will board our plane and head to Israel, the Land of the Bible! A life changing experience awaits you; take this time to prepare your heart and spirit to receive all that He has for you during the next few days!
DAY TWO -
Shalom to the Land Of Milk and Honey! Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv our guide will greet and assist us in airport and custom clearing formalities. Afterward we will board our deluxe motorcoach to begin our Holy Land adventure. On the way to our hotel in the Galilee, we will drive through the Plain of Sharon to the ancient port city and trade route, Jaffa (Joppa). It was here that Jonah embarked for Tarshish and was swallowed by a "great fish". This region holds many significant sites such as the beautiful Sea of Galilee, the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha and Caesarea. After a day of touring, we will enjoy dinner and a night of rest on shores of the Jordan River.
DAY THREE -
After a bountiful Israeli breakfast, we will take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to view the remains of a 2nd century Synagogue, St. Peter's house, Mt. of Beatitudes, Magdala, and Tabgha, the site of the multiplications of loaves and fishes. Before we proceed with our Israel tour, we will stop to have a delicious St. Peter's fish lunch on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. After lunch we will proceed via the bridge of the daughters of Jacob via Dan, where the golden calf was set upon a high place. We will continue to Banias, one of the sources of the Jordan River, called Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus taught the disciples. Ending our day with dinner and overnight in Tiberias overlooking the Sea of Galilee.
DAY FOUR -
After breakfast we will travel to Cana of Galilee, the traditional site of the wedding feast and where Jesus turned the water into wine, and then on to Nazareth, to the synagogue where He taught can be found. Continuing on to visit the Nazareth Village, where we will see a re-enactment of the town during Jesus time. Continuing our day of touring we will travel across the plains of Jezreel to the hill of Armageddon, where the final battle between "good and evil" will take place. We will also visit the famed fortress of Megiddo to see King Solomon's stables and water tunnel which date back to the 10th century B.C. Continuing on we will stop at the Spring of Harod to hear a presentation of Gideon and his faith. Next we head towards Yardenit, on the Jordan, where we will stop for a special group baptismal service. Return to hotel for dinner. After dinner, we will visit the Galilee Experience, and see a presentation of the historical and spiritual significance of the Galilee. Afterward browse the "Immanuel Gift and Book Center", which also includes a Café overlooking the Sea of Galilee and an Art Gallery featuring works by new immigrants from Russia and Ethiopia. Before retiring for the evening, feel free to stroll the banks of the Jordan River, a perfect way to end our last day in Tiberias.
DAY FIVE -
We will leave the beautiful Tiberias area and head south to Jerusalem. Along the way we will see Beth Shean, a well preserved Roman amphitheater. As we ascend to Jerusalem we will see the Inn of the Good Samaritan and view the Golden City from Mount Scopus. Next stop, Bethlehem, to see the Church of Nativity and the Shepherd's fields. Check into our hotel in Jerusalem for our first dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
DAY SIX -
Following breakfast we will begin the day with a visit to the fortress of Masada, where the Jewish defenders made their last stand against the rule of Rome. Ascend by cable car to see the ruins of the Herodian Palace, their synagogue, and cistern. Continuing on to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where we will climb the Wadi David to the waterfall where David hid from Saul. Enjoy a swim in the oasis or "float" in the mineral enriched waters of the Dead Sea. Afterward we will visit Qumran and see the caves where the shepherd boy found the Dead Sea scrolls. We will end our day with dinner and overnight at hotel.
DAY SEVEN -
After our delicious Israeli breakfast, we will board our motorcoach and head towards the "old city" of Jerusalem. We will enter at St. Stephen's gate and visit the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the lame man. We will then walk to the traditional site of Pilate's Judgment Hall. Continuing on we will walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We will then visit the restored Jewish Quarter to the Western (Wailing) Wall and the Temple Mount. We will tour the Western Wall tunnels and see the excavations of the City of David at the southern wall of the Old City. On our next stop we will visit King David's Tomb and the Upper Room, site of the Last Supper and where the first Pentecost took place. Return to our hotel for dinner and an evening of contemplation and rest.
DAY EIGHT -
Following breakfast, our day will begin with a visit to the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Old City and stretch our hands to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We will see a breathtaking view of the Holy City from the Mount and descend to the Church of the Tears and to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus anguished in prayer asking "this cup to pass from me." We will then continue to tour west and visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. We will also visit a scale model of the first century Jerusalem. Our day will end at the Garden Tomb for a special Communion service. What other way to end our touring day! We will return to our hotel for dinner and another memory filled evening.
DAY NINE -
You will have a free day to explore the fascinating city of Jerusalem on your own, or rest and pack at the hotel. After our farewell dinner we will say shalom to the Holy Land and proceed to Ben Gurion Airport for our return flight home forever changed by our visit to Israel, the Holy Land of the Bible!
DAY TEN -
Arrive back in the USA with our faith strengthened and deepened by this experience. NEXT YEAR JERUSALEM!

ATHENS - INTRODUCTION TO ST. PAUL IN GREECE
In our first two days, we will examine how the Apostle Paul was a uniquely qualified student of the Hebrew Scriptures who could make an appeal to both Jew and Gentile.
We will begin the day with a lecture on the history of Athens and the philosophical and historical nature of the Athenians. The remainder of the day will consist of a walking tour of the ancient market places and a visit to the famous Acropolis, the cliff that dominates the landscape of Athens, and includes the Parthenon, built more that 400 years before Jesus was born. Overnight in Athens.
DAY FOUR -
ATHENS - PAUL'S PREACHING IN ATHENS
Beginning the day with morning lectures, we will examine Paul's preaching. There are three different places that Paul preached in Athens: the Agar, Mars Hills (Areopagus), and the Synagogue (location unknown). We will look at the Royal Stoa, the altar of the 12 gods and discuss the religious nature of the Athenians. We will conclude our day with a look at early church history in the city of Athens after the Apostolic period (including the Church of St. Dionysius and the Well of St. Paul). Overnight in Athens.
DAY FIVE -
THESSALONIKI – THESSALONICA & THE EARLY PERSECUTIONS TO THE FAITH
The images of the epistles and the encouragement to the early community of faith at Thessalonica will be our focus today. We will journey by coach through the heart of Greece including a view of Mt. Olympus, and some of the beautiful central battle site at Thermopylae. While on the bus we will learn more of the regions of Greece, modern history, and the culture and tradition of modern Greece. The journey takes us to Thessaloniki. Once we reach the beautiful seaside city, we will see part of the ancient city that Paul makes references to in his letters: the Agora (market place) and other remains from the time of Paul. Overnight in Thessalonki.
DAY SIX -
THESSALNOKI – THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CONVERTS IN EUROPE
From the beautiful harbor of Neapolis (Kavalla), where Paul first put his foot on European soil, along the Via Egnatia to the impressive remains of Philippi, we will trace the second (Acts 6:11; 17:1) and third mission (Acts 20:1-2) journeys. In Philippi, we will see the theater, the public forum and the ancient city center. There is also a traditional "jail of St. Paul" (Philippian jailer story) and the more authentic nearby stream where Paul met Lydia and other Jews. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
DAY SEVEN -
THESSALONIKI – THE BERE3AN BIBLE STUDENTS
Following the work of Paul to Berea (Acts 17) we will examine the chronology of his ministry and the main elements of several epistles that defined his preaching and writing ministry. At Vergina, we will visit the monumental tombs of the Macedonian royals. We will also visit the port city of Dion, where some scholars think Paul departed to Athens. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
DAY EIGHT -
ATHENS – THE PATTERN OF PAUL'S MINISTRY
During our return to Athens we will be using our bus a classroom and looking at the total pattern of Paul's ministry. Looking at both Acts and the Epistles, we will investigate the mode of ministry operation that is recorded of the early church mission teams. Upon return to Athens, you will have free time to wander in the city Plaka (street markets). Overnight in Athens.
DAY NINE -
ATHENS – MINISTRY IN THE CONFLICT OF CULTURE
We will depart this morning to Corinth, passing by the historic battle site of Marathon and making our way along Saronic gulf to the gulf of Corinth. Paul's message to Corinth clashed with many elements of common culture of this upscale city. We will study Paul's words and works in the "Corinthian clash". In Corinth, we will visit the ancient hospital (Asklepion), one of the Gymnasia, a Theatre, Odeon, and the temple of Apollo. The Bema which has been reconstructed by archaeologists (1Cor3:2), will also be an important site. Before our return to Athens, we will visit Cenchrea, the port where Paul said goodbye to Greece as he began his return to Jerusalem. Overnight in Athens.

DAY ONE -
TEL AVIV / ROME
Travel on a short morning flight to Rome. Here you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Later this morning, you will visit the Vatican and its famous museums. See San Peter Basilica Square, where Michelangelo's, famous sculpture, La Pieta, is housed and the Sistine Chapel, where you will see his most famous painting of the nine stories of Genesis on the ceiling and his painting of the Last Judgment . Dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY TWO -
ANCIENT & BAROQUE ROME
Departure after breakfast for a guided tour of "Ancient" Rome with its Via Fori Imperiali, a road which links the Coliseum to the grand 19th-century monuments of Piazza Venezia. Next, a visit to the Coliseum which was built between 70-72 A.D. and completed in 80 A.D. when Titus was the ruling emperor. Continue on to Campidoglio Square (Capitoline Hill), the smallest of Rome's seven hills, but was the religious and political center of the city since its foundation more than 2500 years ago. Today the hill is also known as Campidoglio, the Italian name for "the hill". After a lunch break you'll continue your excursion to see the famous Fountain of Trevi, Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Spagna. Dinner and overnight.
DAY THREE -
CATACOMBS
In the morning visit the catacombs of San Callisto, which consist of a vast maze of passages, galleries, and halls several stories in depth and reaching as far down as 65 feet. The ancient Romans most often turned to cremation as burial custom. The history of Roman catacombs begins with the advent of Christianity. It was desirable that bodies not be destroyed in order that they be available for resurrection. Since space was at a premium, the early Christians went underground. This afternoon is at leisure to explore this beautiful city on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY FOUR -
ROME / USA
Early morning transfer to the airport. Your guide will assist with check-in procedures for flight back to the U.S.A. Arrive home with many wonderful memories of the Holy Land & Rome!

DAY ONE -
Drive through Negev Desert and cross the southern Taba border from Israel into Egypt.
Arrive in Cairo for Dinner and hotel overnight.
DAY TWO -
After breakfast, visit the Egyptian Museum to see King Tut's Golden Mask and many other archaeological treasures. Drive to Giza, to visit the Great Pyramids, one of the 7 Wonders of the World, and the Sphinx Valley Temple. For those that are adventurous take a camel ride. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY THREE - **Additional Options
Visit Memphis, city of the God Ptah, the capital of the oldest kingdom of the world to see the Alabaster Sphinx and the Statue of Ramses II. Next visit Sakkara, to see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser which dates back to 2790 B.C. the oldest pyramid in Egypt. Proceed to Old Cairo, to see Abu Sirgha Church, which tradition states that Joseph and Mary rested on their flight into Egypt. Enjoy a visit to the Egyptian bazaar. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
